Deus Ex Machina Leather Motorcycle Gloves

Some pieces of riding gear are just equipment.

These never felt that way.

They were one of the first pieces I really wanted — the kind of thing you think about for a while before finally deciding they should be yours.

And years later, I still understand why.

The design feels influenced by Japanese motorcycle culture — simple, purposeful and beautifully considered.

The leather is incredibly soft and supple.

The seams sit on the outside, giving the gloves their distinctive shape while keeping the inside clean and comfortable against the hand.

Elastic across the back and through the palm allows them to move naturally when riding.

Then there’s the clever part. For something this comfortable, they’re surprisingly substantial.

The palm is reinforced.

The knuckles have an additional leather panel.

High-wear areas have extra material exactly where it’s needed.

Nothing looks excessive.

Nothing feels overbuilt.

They simply fit beautifully and do their job.

After years of riding, the leather has softened, darkened and taken on the shape of the hands that wore it.

That’s the sort of ageing we like.
