Vintage Buffalo Breath Leather Motorcycle Pants - Made in New Zealand
Before riding gear became technical, it had to be clever.
These vintage leather motorcycle pants were made in New Zealand by Buffalo Breath, and almost every detail exists for a reason.
The knees are heavily reinforced and padded — not just for protection, but exactly where your legs meet the tank.
There’s additional padding through the hips.
The legs are beautifully tapered so they sit neatly inside a pair of riding boots.
Long zips make getting them on and off possible without compromising that close fit.
Then there’s the waist.
High cut.
Properly tailored.
A leather belt built into the design.
They feel less like a pair of leather trousers and more like something that was actually shaped around the position of a rider on a motorcycle.
And then somebody gave them a mustard stripe.
Just enough colour to take something completely functional and give it a little swagger.
These came from the collection of an old-school Kawasaki and Honda rider and have survived in remarkably good condition.
Very little wear. Supple leather. Beautifully preserved padding and hardware.
They’re marked a 36, although the cut is snug — closer to the fit you’d expect from a modern 34.
A great example of an era when motorcycle gear was designed around the bike first.
Style just happened to come with it.
