Because those marks aren't artificial ageing.

They're evidence.

This Ducati Meccanica leather jacket has already saved two riders.

When I bought it, one elbow and the back were already scarred from its first trip down the road.

Then I added to the story.

I lowsided my 1977 Kawasaki Z1R wearing it.

The jacket hit the road again.

Now both elbows carry the marks, along with another layer of road rash across the back.

It won't be restored.

It doesn't need to be.
